Erman has shown in various group exhibitions throughout San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Long Beach, California. He currently lives and works in New York.

This body of work examines how both Armenian and Roman scripts integrate written forms that elaborate linguistic structures. Underlying these seemingly disparate structures are conceptual continuities that investigate the nature of language and further the minimalist engagement with trans-linguistic phonetics and visual structure. Do not forget the emphasis on the materiality of paint conversed with the clarity of color and form. Echoing both the natural landscape and the quasi-surrealist landscapes of the mind, juxtapositions of form and symbolic representation are rendered in a viscous, paint-handling manner. Family, myth, storytelling, and tradition are all issues that inform the work.
